Our Vision

With your help, and our Integrated Development Plan, Mangaung will strive to achieve:

  • Mangaung is recognized nationally and internationally as a safe and attractive place to live, work and invest

  • There are good and accessible basic services for all, a dynamic economy with a high employment rate, many innovative formal and informal businesses and a highly skilled workforce.

  • Mangaung citizens have great civic pride, responsibility and strong partnership ethos, with a culture of transparency and accountability.

  • Poverty is reduced, everyone has access to land and housing, with a more equitable distribution of wealth and health.

  • Mangaung is attractive, safe, clean, green and healthy, and sought after by visitors and investors.

Our Objectives

Mangaung as a living “brand” has many responsibilities which include developing our economy and community, promoting civic leadership and delivering excellent service.

 

The municipality supports sustained growth by:

  • Putting the basics of good city and municipal management with swift, efficient administration in place.

  • Positioning Mangaung as a unique and attractive location for investment.

  • Revamping the Central Business District and cleaning up the environment.

  • Developing niche areas where Mangaung can be competitive, including agriculture, medical services and tourism.

  • Supporting local products and growing small to medium-sized businesses.

  • Improving workforce skills and increasing literacy and skills across the community.

The Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality logo reflects the history, people, unity and development vision of the municipality.

Green

The Green Curve promotes our natural beatuty and landscapes, (e.g. Natural Hill and Thaba Nchu) and our thirst for constant progression.

Orange

The color Orange gives us warmth, inspiration and dynamism, while Blank makes us feel powerful and stable, and Green constantly fuels our growth.

Black

The Black Line shows easy direct access to our region and also signifies that we have a mapped-out path to the future.

The story behind the logo

Our new Mangaung logo has a strong and simple presence. Its unique esign is a visual symbol of our municipality, our people, our long-trm vision to archieve Metropolitan City status as envisaged for th future.
